3 Generations Layout

This is a priceless photo of my hubby with his brothers and dad and baby Lucas taken during his first birthday party back in September. It's all THREE generations of the Chin men all together! How wonderful is that?

The layout is inspired by Sketchy Thursdays plus further inspiration from Scrap-It-lah. Below are the criteria on Scrap-It-lah's Elia's October Challenge:

1.      Old book paper, sheet music or something similar downloaded off the internet & printed out.
2.      Fussy-cutting.
3.      Hand-stitching using embroidery floss.

Here's my layout:
Priceless photo of all 3 generations! Alas, Lucas is fast asleep here but oh well, it's still a wonderful shot nonetheless. It's not easy to get everyone together for a photo opp :) Hubby's the one in the center with the wide smile holding Lucas.

Sketch 10.27 on Sketchy Thursdays. Love this sketch! The flaglines are so cool :)

I'm using Simple Stories' Generations collection here. Just simply LOVE this collection! Here are some close-ups:
Title says: "3 Generations of Chin Together" (Chin is my husband's family surname). Some fussy-cut flowers here as well.

Scrolls made with old book paper and tied with floss. The doily shape is fussy cut and hand-stitched with floss.

Border die cut with Spellbinder and hand-stitched with floss

Background is spray misted with some TA in Red Velvet. The flagline is held together by these gorgeous MM antique copper brads and more floss.

I'm glad I managed to complete this LO and upload in time, thankfully Lucas decided to take a long nap today otherwise I don't think I would have made it! *pheeewww* :) Anyway there's still time to play-along, so head on over to Scrap-It-lah's  and Sketchy Thursdays now :)

Thanks for looking! Have a lovely weekend ahead :)

Together

I was inspired by the sketch and phrase 'together' from Bird is the Word and the idea of having a banner on the layout from {Create} Make It Happen. So here is a layout of some of my favorite pics of my childhood girlfriends, taken some years back by a local studio... just a layout to celebrate the wonderful years of our blessed friendship.

This is the sketch from Bird is the Word:

 Here are some close ups:

The journaling reads:

From Barbie Dolls to playing catch
From chasing boys to passing tests
After all these years, I'm thankful we're still together
You girls made my life so much brighter

I'm using Basic Grey (background paper), Prima (patterned paper), Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist and Ranger Distress Ink to add color to the background. The chipboard bits are Maya Road (flourishes) and Dusty Attic (photo corner) and painted in a matching tea blue. Banner and scalloped circle are cut from Slice, punched border shapes at the bottom and butterflies are from Martha Stewart punches. Flowers and title alphas are Prima. Stickpin and pink rosette from Etsy.

Thanks for looking, do head on over to Bird is the Word and {Create} to check out their current challenges :) I hope I'll be able to get online again by the end of this week, it's been so busy lately, I hardly have time for anything... I've got something new brewing... can't wait to share my new venture hehehe :)

Have a lovely week ahead ladies!

Baby Full Moon Party Guest Boards

I've had such a crazy busy week, rushing out Christmas cards and working on a couple of commissioned projects, I barely had time to go online. Here's one of the completed projects... my childhood bestie celebrated her baby boy's full moon just yesterday. I'm just so happy for her, her adorable lil boy K'Sun is simply a joy :)

Just wanna share these 'guest boards' I made for them. The theme given to me is SUNNY YELLOW but she left the rest to me so I decided to go with a shabby and elegant concept, breaking away from the conventional cutesy baby themes.

The first board, with a bright sunny yellow background.
Here are the close-ups of the first board:

Here's the second board, going with a pale yellow background but with brighter daisies and background masking:

Here are close-ups of the second board:

And here are the boards in action at the party itself....

At the last minute I decided to add some chipboard titles, felt the board looked abit bare but was worried we didn't have enough space for the signing hehehe :)

Almost filled up with wonderful well wishes from family & friends :)

Thanks for visiting :) Hope this sunny yellow page brought some sunshine into your day hehehe :)

Happy Sunday folks and have a wonderful week ahead :)

A Rustic Card

And so a week has begun! I'm looking forward to an eventful week, but I do hope to squeeze in time blogging though hehe :) I created this for a friend to give to her hubby for their wedding anniversary. I decided to work on a rustic and masculine card, which is perfect for the challenge on 365 Cards Day 220 "Imagine This - Rustic"

Papers and seam binding are 7Gypsies (Paper; Avignon Ecriture).

Chipboard frame; Tattered Angels, metal star and twine; local supply.

Flower, crystal and alpha stickers; Prima, tiny black alphas; Making Memories.

Green leaves; Etsy, fussy-cut doily shape; Simple Stories, corrugated sheet; local supply.

Inside the card: stamp is Technique Tuesday's Ali Edwards. Tiny bloom stamps Basic Grey.

A little something to decorate the inside cover.

Thanks for looking, have a nice day  :)

A Purple & Teal Birthday Card

It was World Card Making Day last Saturday on October 1st and I was so crazy I actually volunteered a bunch of freebie custom-crafted cards for some of my friends! These past few days, I was so busy churning out cards after cards, and I gotta say this, it's really fun, cathartic and therapeutic creating them :) Here's one of them ...

The color theme is as per request. I'm using Basic Grey papers here.

This card is based on Sketch 135 by CardPatterns:

Here are some close-ups:

Butteflies were stamped an embossed using Versa Magic ink and clear embossing powder, fussy cut and then decorated with liquid pearls and glitter glue.

Sentiment is also stamped and embossed. Rosettes from Etsy.

Another stamped and embossed butterfly, the yummy pink puffy bloom stickers are Momoyo.

That's all for now, hope she'll like this card, I'm mailing a whole bunch out today *fingers crossed they reach safe & sound* I'll definitely be sharing most of them here soon :)

Thanks for looking, have a great day XOXO!

A Wedding Project for M & J

Last month I had the honor to create a directional signage and guest book for my hubby's colleagues; Mabel & Justin for their wedding ceremonies. Just wanna share what I did for them based on a shabby-red theme. They requested for gerberas, and the couple is into cycling and lomo photos hence the bike and the filmstrip at the left corner  :)

An A3 foam-board mounted directional signage.

A close-up of the sweet newlyweds :)
The couple is into cycling and lomo photos hence the bike and the filmstrip of their dating pics.

I altered a 7Gypsies book for their Guest Book.

Inside the book cover.

Thanks for dropping by. Have a lovely week ahead :)
