Piradee's Shadowbox Workshop @ Scrappingville

Last Saturday I had the privilege of attending Piradee Talvana's workshop at our LSS Scrapingville and we had a blast! The project was a wooden mistable shadowbox by Pink Paislee and we were playing with the beautiful and whimsical Nantucket collection. On top of that Sharon, so generous, bless her, baked a cake for us and also had a lucky draw where we all got to take home some scrapping goodies! What a day :)

Here are just some photo updates of the awesome session we had with her :)

That's me and Sharon holding Piradee's Shadow Box.

These die-cuts are just so awesome!

Mine! Halfway done... a mini album will sit at the left corner.

Sharon's having fun too!

With the talented and fabulous Piradee in the centre!

Bargain bin just for the 2 workshop days! COOLNESS!

More special sale on Pink Paislee!!! Who can resist???
On the second day, Piradee thought a mini album, but sadly I could not make it for that class as I had no babysitter :( *boohoohoo* But still, I'm glad I got to make that amazing shadow box and mini album. The PP Mistables are so much fun. I can't wait to get my photos ready and fill up the project to completion and share them here, soon, I hope :)

Check out more pictures at Scrappingville's blog here.

Thanks for looking! Have a lovely day :)

Here's the sketch:

Here are some close-ups.

I'm using a combination of Graphic 45 Christmas Emporium plus Pink Paislee's Snow Day here. Bling silver alphas are AC. Illustration is TGF stamp Anya with Copic markers and glitter glue.

Forever and a Day!

A few weeks back, my ex-schoolmates called for a mini reunion gathering, just a small group of us at all the way at Subang Parade (I used to go to school in Subang), and we went together as a family since most of them wanted to meet my hubby and son.

Of all days, he decided to be l'enfant terrible! He refused to sit in his stroller, he fusses at the high chair, his usual cartoons can't cheer him up and poor daddy had to carry him around the mall so mummy can catch up with her old friends. I was thoroughly annoyed and embarrassed by his behavior and can't wait to just get home. When we were in the car, he even fussed in his car seat which isn't normally the case, he usually loves his car rides! So I had to defy all road safety etiquette and carry him otherwise daddy can't drive in peace. And then .... he fell asleep in my arms looking sooooo incredibly adorable and angelic and then all I can think of is, how can I ever stay annoyed at you for long! Then I felt so bad for being irritated with him, it's not his fault after all because I made him go out during his noon nap hour. I took a photo with my free hand and here's a scrap of this special moment.

I'll credit two fabulous challenge sites for the inspirations for this layout... firstly; Scrap-It-Lah with their November challenge and Sketchabilities' Sketch #58.

Below are the criteria for Scrap-It-Lah's November challenge by Debbi Tehrani of Little Scraps of Magic:

All layouts must please incorporate the following
{thereafter any extras may be added}
  1. Layers - at least 6
  2. Stamping and/or embossing
  3. Tags or journaling cards incorporated into your design (not necessarily used to journal on but can be if you choose)
And this is the fabulous awesome Sketch #58 by Sketchabilities:

Here are some of close-ups:

Title tag; MME L&F2. Journaling tag; Simple Stories Generations.
All papers by Glitz' Vintage Blue.
Doilies and butterflies are stamped, embossed and fussy cut.
Flowers; Prima & Etsy, doiley; Kaisercraft, pearls; Zva.
Huge fabric bloom; Prima, chipboard flourishes; Maya Road.
Well, my lesson here is never to bring him out during his noon nap time, the result is disastrous. So no more brunches or luncheons with friends with baby in tow :(

I'm pretty happy with this layout, thanks to the awesome sketch, which inspired me to use these fabulous papers to their best, really awesome collection by Glitz! Also, I've been drowning in Christmas cards lately so I'm soooooo glad to get a short break away from cards to scrap this layout. I was almost losing my scrapping mojo lately, but this made me very very happy! Scrapping is such an awesome way to spend the weekend :)

Well, there's still plenty of time to enter Scrap-It-Lah's November challenge , check out the awesome RAK (Studio Calico's Tatting Kit which is available from Scrappin Studio) for the winner....

Drooling yet??? Hehehehe :P

Thanks for dropping by! Hope you're having a fabulous weekend! Cheerios!

Wildlife Theme Mini Album

Hi crafty folks! Happy Friday... and happy 11.11.11 .... such a momentous date right? Well, I'm busy with my cards, as always hehehe but for a change I'd like to share something different today; it's a mini album! Yeah, I know I don't normally do mini albums, but I love making them as gifts :)

I made this 6' x 6' accordion style mini album for my dear friend's baby boy's FIRST birthday. It's a double sided album which can be opened up and displayed upright yet closes flat to carry around. This 'wildlife' theme album is filled with adorable creatures. I prepared alot of photo space and journaling area so she can fill it up at her own leisure and even add her own finishing touches. Once it's complete with pictures and stories, it's so fun to carry around to show off baby's pics to everyone! :)

I'm using mainly K&Company's Actopus to Zelephant collection with 7Gypsies rub-ons and stickers.

Well, that's it from me today, just a quick one. I gotta run off to make another baby album, my brother-in-law and his wife gave birth to a bouncy baby girl just this week and I need to work on their album, I'm soooooo looking forward to crafting something girly!!! All I ever seem to do are BOY stuff!

Have a ONEderful 11.11.11!!!
