Makan Time!

I was taken with Amelia's December Challenge sketch on Papier Love's blog (Papier Love is our LSS), yet  I couldn't decide what to scrap on but I really wanted to. My mind keeps going cards cards cards, when I see pattern papers, I think cards cards cards, when I sit at the craft table, I envision cards cards cards .... *goodness* I needed that to stop for awhile so I can do a proper scrap. After a few days of futile mixing and matching various papers and photos, the mojo finally hit. Gosh I really hate it when it takes so darn long to come to me, I almost wanted to give up. I hope I'm not losing it! :( So anyway I finally decided on an older photo taken of Lucas during his meal time. These cutesy October Afternoon papers fits perfectly for a boyish kiddy theme.

My LO is entitled "Makan Time" which means Meal Time. "Makan" is a Malay word for eat or rather 'meal' in this context. I think this photo was taken back in May by hubby. Lucas was probably around 8 months old thereabouts.

Below are the challenge criteria and sketch:

Create a 12'X12' layout based on the Sketch above and to incorporate..

1. At least 1 Martha Stewart Puncher.

2. Minimum of 3 Pattern Papers.

3. Any product from Prima.

The challenge starts from 1st Dec 2011 - 31st Dec 2011. Kindly submit your link at the comment section, and if you don't have a blog please email your layout to Macy at kartzplus@yahoo.com. This contest is open to residence/address of Malaysia, Singapore and Brunei.

My compliance with the challenge requirements:
  1. I used 2 Martha Stewart puncher; a border punch and the butterfly punch
  2. I definitely have more than 3 pattern papers here
  3. I used 2 blue flowers from Prima's Romantique collection.
Here are my close-ups:

I'm really quite pleased with this and I'm just itching to scrap more photos now *rubs hands* I've completed a major 8 x 8 album project yesterday (pheewww) and I'm almost done with another 6 x 6 project (this is for my newborn niece, will share soon), after that I'm looking forward to some leisurely scrapping :)

Meanwhile, do head on over to Papier's blog and check out this challenge, play along if you're Malaysian, Singaporean or Bruneian and you could just win an awesome RAK :) Challenge ends by 31st December.

Well, that's it for now, I'm sure we're all looking forward to a nice weekend with our families. It's school holiday season here and the malls and streets are pretty much decked with lots of festive trimmings. Everyone's in a festive mood.... falalalala :)

Happy weekend and God bless!

Nantucket Cards

Hi again everyone! I know I've been lagging with my blogging, I've been occupied with my boy, he's getting older, fussier and more demanding lately. Also, I've some cards and album projects lined up. I'm hoping to clear them all out soonest so I can spend time on FUN things like scrapping!!! I've been missing out on so many scrap challenges!

Oh and guess what, notice my new blog look??? I'm really loving it, hehehe, been waiting for a while for it to be installed and now I'm a happy bunny :D

Anyway, coming back to today's post... I'm so in love with Pink Paislee's Nantucket papers ever since Piradee's workshop, I couldn't resist working with them. I'm sharing two cards made from this collection.

First up is a 'farewell card' for a dear friend who is going away to work in the States.

A large 8.5" x 5.5" card
The die-cut elements are to-die-for! Daisies are Prima.
The hexagon chip stickers are so versatile :)
A view of the layers.

Second, a 'thank you' card commissioned by a friend.

A small 4" x 6" card.
I love this color scheme!
These papers makes fussy cutting very addictive! And they are all just so versatile for any occasion and any reason. I've actually some more of them :)

Well, the weekend is here! So, happy weekend everyone! Thanks for dropping by and I wanna say I really appreciate all the lovely comments I've been getting on my previous posts and I know I haven't been the most dilligent in replying and visiting some of your blogs, but I WILL get down to it, promise :) I am really thankful for all my very encouraging, motivating and inspiring crafty friends!

Tata for now :)

Piradee's Shadowbox Workshop @ Scrappingville

Last Saturday I had the privilege of attending Piradee Talvana's workshop at our LSS Scrapingville and we had a blast! The project was a wooden mistable shadowbox by Pink Paislee and we were playing with the beautiful and whimsical Nantucket collection. On top of that Sharon, so generous, bless her, baked a cake for us and also had a lucky draw where we all got to take home some scrapping goodies! What a day :)

Here are just some photo updates of the awesome session we had with her :)

That's me and Sharon holding Piradee's Shadow Box.

These die-cuts are just so awesome!

Mine! Halfway done... a mini album will sit at the left corner.

Sharon's having fun too!

With the talented and fabulous Piradee in the centre!

Bargain bin just for the 2 workshop days! COOLNESS!

More special sale on Pink Paislee!!! Who can resist???
On the second day, Piradee thought a mini album, but sadly I could not make it for that class as I had no babysitter :( *boohoohoo* But still, I'm glad I got to make that amazing shadow box and mini album. The PP Mistables are so much fun. I can't wait to get my photos ready and fill up the project to completion and share them here, soon, I hope :)

Check out more pictures at Scrappingville's blog here.

Thanks for looking! Have a lovely day :)

A Winter Angel for CardPatterns

I'm back again with a new card based on Sketch 141 from CardPatterns, I'm using my favorite TGF Angel Anya stamp on this one. It's a 6 x 6 card on a white base.

It's a white winter Christmas angel!

Here's the sketch:

Here are some close-ups.

I'm using a combination of Graphic 45 Christmas Emporium plus Pink Paislee's Snow Day here. Bling silver alphas are AC. Illustration is TGF stamp Anya with Copic markers and glitter glue.

A Pastel Christmas Card

Alot of blog hopping on card makers blogs landed me to these two amazing challenge blogs; Mojo Monday and The Shabby Tea Room. I'm playing along on both sides with one card...
  1. The Shabby Tea Room's Week #88 The Shabby Pastel Christmas
  2. Mojo Monday's Sketch 215
The inspirational photo from The Shabby Tea Room:

Here is my card:

I'm using Pink Paislee's Snow Day papers here on a kraft cardstock base. Alphas are Prima & Basic Grey.

I was just so inspired to create this card, had alot fun with these papers :) I just love how pastel can work well on a Christmas card too and not just red and green :)
