First Birthday Canvas Album

Hi there! Thanks for being here! Hope you had a nice weekend and I hope this Monday's not too blue for you :) Today's post is to reminisce Lucas' first birthday ... my boy was born on 4th September 2010, that's 2 years ago. We celebrated his first birthday last year with just about everyone! Family, friends, church friends, colleague, ex-colleagues and wonderful people aplenty.

We had great photos taken at the party and I was planning to document the birthday in a special canvas album, so I ordered the album and all the embellies like back in September last year but I only managed to complete the album this year. Talk about procrastination! Here are the canvas pages which I had fun with lots of misting, iron-transfers and embellishing. I used a Prima Canvas Album 10" x 9" with 5 canvas inserts. Love the thick double layered inserts, perfect for heavy painting, misting and whatever not.

My boy is already 2 plus today and soon I will work on his second birthday album, I pray I won't take another YEAR to complete it! Here's a precious moment of us at his second birthday last month where I was showing him how much he has grown! :)

Scrappy Crafty Chicas with CS Sketch #230

Hi again! I'm on a roll here. I actually created this layout this very afternoon itself. I'm suddenly just bursting with mojo after a full day workshop yesterday with Jaz Lee. I'll have a separate post on the class projects, it was such fun getting together with my croppy group of friends. In fact this photo print was given to me yesterday by Chris, a fellow crafter.

I got these papers from Papermarket at Raffles when I was down in Singapore in August. hadn't had the chance to touch it till today! *yay* Seriously I have stash enough to line up from here to Timbuktoo... and yet I still keep on hoarding and hoarding.... anyway here you go...

I'm so happy I managed to complete a layout today and also finally get to update this blog.  Seeing my scrappy friends again really inspired me to keep up the craft despite my crazy work schedule :)

Cardabilities Sketch #38

I recently got hold of these gorgeous 7Gypsies Victoria 8 x 8 papers. I'm so in love with them right now :) So here's my first project with Victoria ... a baroque themed card with a sketch inspired by Sketch #38 by Cardabilities.

Here's my card:

I'm using 7G's Victoria 8 x 8: papers are Jubilee and Printemps. The tag is a cardstock sticker which came with the 8 x 8 pad. I just layered it on top of 2 more papers and hand-cut it.

I stamped a chandelier (Inkadinkadoo) in black just behind the tag.  Sentiment stamp is Salutations by Penny Black. Mini flourishes on the tag are Amazing by Ali Edwards / Technique Tuesday.

Check out those skeleton leaves! I discovered them at Crafio, an online craft store based in Penang Malaysia. Loving them loads now, so versatile. The pink crystal sparkle seen the earlier picture is also from Crafio. Flowers are Kaisercraft but I misted them to match the card. Flower centre is Prima Sultan centre.

This is the inside of the card. Chandelier stamp; Inkadinkadoo in black. Flourish masking; Tim Holtz's mask with Victorian Velvet Distress Ink pad. Bronze pearl decorative bit from Prima.

I love love love this card because it really echoes the decor of my living area and our black chandelier is quite similar to the stamped one albeit it has less 'layers' :) Hmmm ... I don't think I'll ever give this card away!

July Sketch on Stuck?!

Yet another amazing sketch on Stuck?! Here's my layout based on July 1st's sketch, it's a photo of my dearest childhood girlfriends taken at our girly weekend trip to Cameron Highlands back in 2008.

All patterned papers are MME's Stella Rose range with some scraps from PP Parisian Anthology and Daily Junque. background is made using a Prima mask and some distress ink.

July 1st Sketch

Alphas are AC Fabric chipboard Thickers and Glitz tiny alphas.

Embellishments are Prima flowers, BG Chip stickers, pearls, liquid pearls and butterflies from my favorite MS Royal butterfly punch.

This girly trip has a special palce in my heart because it will be a long while before we can another such trip. Rini and I are busy moms to our new baby boys. Jen is expecting and due in September so we're gonna be really really tied up for abit. Guess our future trips will involve kids!!!
