Little Darling Baby

Happy Labor Day! It's gonna be a busy month of May for me! I'll be traveling to Singapore and Penang this month while preparing for a regional meeting in June. It will be a while till my next post, probably after June! LOL :)

Anyhow, I discovered these aweseome Little Darlings collection from Graphic 45 at Papier Love last week and came up with this cutesy layout for my dear boy.

The vintage baby illustrations on this collection is absolutely to-die-for! I spent 2 nights just fussy-cutting the pictures - a great way to just chill and de-stress after work!

3 Generations Layout

This is a priceless photo of my hubby with his brothers and dad and baby Lucas taken during his first birthday party back in September. It's all THREE generations of the Chin men all together! How wonderful is that?

The layout is inspired by Sketchy Thursdays plus further inspiration from Scrap-It-lah. Below are the criteria on Scrap-It-lah's Elia's October Challenge:

1.      Old book paper, sheet music or something similar downloaded off the internet & printed out.

2.      Fussy-cutting.

3.      Hand-stitching using embroidery floss.

Here's my layout:

Priceless photo of all 3 generations! Alas, Lucas is fast asleep here but oh well, it's still a wonderful shot nonetheless. It's not easy to get everyone together for a photo opp :) Hubby's the one in the center with the wide smile holding Lucas.

I'm using Simple Stories' Generations collection here. Just simply LOVE this collection! Here are some close-ups:

Title says: "3 Generations of Chin Together" (Chin is my husband's family surname). Some fussy-cut flowers here as well.

Scrolls made with old book paper and tied with floss. The doily shape is fussy cut and hand-stitched with floss.

Border die cut with Spellbinder and hand-stitched with floss

Background is spray misted with some TA in Red Velvet. The flagline is held together by these gorgeous MM antique copper brads and more floss.

I'm glad I managed to complete this LO and upload in time, thankfully Lucas decided to take a long nap today otherwise I don't think I would have made it! *pheeewww* :) Anyway there's still time to play-along, so head on over to Scrap-It-lah's  and Sketchy Thursdays now :)

Just Me!

Happy FRIDAY y'all!!! It's a public holiday in Malaysia so everyone's in for a long weekend *yay*

The recent Wednesday was my "off day" which meant I don't have to 'work' at being a mum! Hehehe, I usually have 2 "off days" a week where I leave Lucas at my mum's place all day while I catch up on errands, do some chores, meet up with friends, go on a date with the hubs or simply to stay home and quietly craft without interruption. So coincidentally, I had 2 packages from Cherry On Top and Simon Says Stamp arrived on that day and you can imagine I just went abit crazy with bliss.

This is the result of a productive "off day"... it's totally just for the freakin' fun of it, no challenges, no submission, no obligation, just good old scrapping fun... just playing with the new stuff that I got... I've been wanting Echo Park's Victoria Gardens for a while *bliss*

Birdie die cut is Grace Taylor, crystal flower embellie from Craft Haven One Utama, pink bloomers American Crafts, fabric border is Pink Paislee Mistable but it's un-misted here, just raw, hehe.

Large roses fusy cut from one of the kit papers. I accented the petals with some glitter stickles.

Alpha stickers from the same kit except "me!" which is Pink Paislee. Chipboard frame is Tattered Angels. Fence mask Prima, stamped on a patterned paper and fussy cut. Small paper rose local. Crystal sparkler Crafio.

Phrase die cut banner from Grace Taylor. This corner is misted with abit of TA Red Velvet. Other inks used are Ranger Distress Ink Pad in Peeled Paint, Pumice & Victorian Velvet.

Ahhhh this I love to bits, I got a set of inspirational Bible verses clear stamps from Stampendous :)

My Darling Valentine

I know it's not Valentine season now but I came across this old photo of me and the hubs taken on Valentine's Day two years ago. We were on a short weekend getaway across the causeway. It's one of those rare photos of me in glasses that actually don't look too bad (*vainpot* heehee). Here's the other thing; the hubs and I are quite strange in the sense that we both LOVE stuffed animals. I for one can't sleep without Mr Wooloomooloo my Koala and hubby just bought the Mumbles the baby Penguin from the Singapore Night Safari.

I'm so thrilled to be able to deviate from my baby theme now that the baby album is almost complete.
Time to get more adventurous!

I used the Collections Elements undressed chipboard as a mask for the misting, then I painted it in red acrylic paint and glazed with Glimmer Glam. The little hearts were scattered around the page. So fantastic nothing is wasted with this chipboard!

This brown lace ribbon is so delicious.

The Color Room Challenge #61

I'm playing along with TCR's pallete #61 for the very first time ever! I love this palette as it's not too girly (I don't get to scrap girly colors cos I usually scrap about my two boys!), so this color combination is simply perfect. I don't actually have anything that matches 100% exactly but I think what I have here comes  quite close.

Here's my interpretation of the pallete, I couldn't use the sketch as I'm working on a single photo and I wanted to make use of the grey Kaisercraft paper I have in my stash. I never would have imagined to use it this way. Thanks TCR for this fabulous inspiration!

The protruding green circle echoes the protruding baby bump!

• Stamp: Maya Road clear doily stamp
• Die cut Shapes: all from Slice except the green circle which is traced from something else.

I really enjoyed playing along as I never imagined I could come up with this if it weren't for TCR. Plus, I got to use some of odd stuff I have in my stash.

Bundle of Joy

This is one of my very first layout using the Slice for most of the page. It's one of our baby's new born photos taken by the hubs almost immediately after he was born.

I opted for a clean horizontal alignment and used polka-dots to accentuate the swaddle on Lucas. I used My Mind's Eye Lime Twist line pattern paper named Out of the Blue with various bits of coordinating cardstock. The three beetles are made from Slice using the Dilly Dally card. Bits of the beetle stickers are from Grace Taylor's Sticker Book. Here are the close-ups.

The Love Bandit Stole My Heart

I fell in love with the uber cute raccoons and owls on the Bo Bunny Love Bandit collection on Scrap N Crop. I bought these last month but I didn't have any inspiration on how to use them till a few days ago. I bought one 2-sided patterened paper, one diecut paper and matching stickers.

This is the end result ... *drumroll* ... taaddaaaa ... dedicated to my own lil Love Bandit Lucas who stole my heart!

I was inspired by the little birdhouse on the diecut so I created a birdhouse-like frame for the photo instead of the usual mat framing. I made a small cluster using some of the matching stickers and accented with Prima flowers. Titles are Prima alphas. I glazed bits of the accents to make them pop.

My Precious

I love this photo taken by the hubs of me holding my Precious. The Happy Together range from Fancy Pants is so perfect for this!

What I used: paper and stickers from Fancy Pant's Happy Together range. Some brown ric rac, mini stick-on pearls, Prima flowers with velvet brads plus some die-cut chipboard (butterfly and florish) which I covered with matching patterned paper. I distressed with Tim Holtz's Pumice inkpad and used AC lettering.

Mummy's Joy

This is a photo of me with my baby when he was a month old.  Alas I scrapped this a couple of months back so I can't remember all the materials I used here except that the flowers are Prima, the brads are Curio, the layered paper stickers are Lost & Found and some of the patterned bits are from Pink Paislee's Parisian Anthology. Oh and the alphas are AC glittery chipboard Thickers.
